Bond Girl Gemma Arterton in Tess of the D'Urbervilles

Viewers get an early chance to see the acting skills of Gemma Arterton in the first part of Tess of the D'Urbervilles, being shown on BBC1 tonight (Sunday, 14th September) at 9pm. The 22-year old actress graduated from Rada last year and has since played head girl Kelly in the St Trinian's Film. The part of Tess in Thomas Hardy's tragedy should put those Rada-honed acting skills to good use, but there is no doubt that this actress will become better known for the part of Agent Fields in the new James Bond film Quantum of Solace, which is released in the UK on 31st October 2008.

Gemma Arterton will also be the face of a new fragrance, Avon Bond Girl 007, which will be launched on October 17th 2008 and will be available online via the Avon website.
