Makosi Keeps Orlaigh and Eugene

In her special task, Makosi has decided to allow Irish model Orlaigh and radio engineering geek Eugene into the Big Brother House. Given Orlaigh's looks, it is surprising that Makosi would be prepared to put up with the competition. However, she said that she felt that Kinga was too young and wouldn't survive in the hostile environment that is the Big Brother House. On visiting the secret housemates Makosi said that she had had a good chat with Orlaigh and felt that she had a good personality that she wanted to see shine in the house. Nokia 8800 Review

Nokia says modern watchmaking and jewelry techniques were used to create its latest high-spec mobile phone, the Nokia 8800. The phone has a stainless steel body, with a sliding keyboard, and features some exclusive audio accompaniment, including ringtones and alerts by composer Ryuichi Sakamoto.

A specially reinforced glass that is used in luxury timepieces provides toughness and scratch-resistance for the front display (TFT LCD 256K colors, 208 x 208 pixel resolution), and even the Nokia marque has been chemically etched on the back plate using a process used by watchmakers. The 'pop-up' mechanism uses a bi-stable spring mechanism and stainless steel ball bearings, like those used in high-performance cars.

When open the phone reveals a hidden SVGA 0.5 megapixel digital camera on the back. The tri-band GSM phone operates in European and American band (GSM 850 or 900/1800/1900 networks) and provides GPRS and EDGE connectivity. The phone comes with a 64MB internal NAND flash memory, and supports the Bluetooth wireless technology, inclusing SIM profile to be used with some Bluetooth car kits. Built-in mp3 player and FM radio are part of the entertainment functions, plus SMS and MMS.

US Grand Prix is Six Car Race

In an incredible turn of events, only the teams running Bridgestone tyres have started the US Grand Prix, making it a six car race. Only Ferrari, McClaren and Jordan cars started the race, with all the teams running Michelin tyres pulling in after the parade lap.

Tyre Concerns at US Grand Prix

The US Formula One Grand Prix currently hangs in the balance and may end up being a six car race as Michelin has not given approval for their tyres to be used in the race. After tyre failures in Friday's practice, Michelin brought in new tyres from France overnight, but still could not achieve approval for racing after a banked curve with a diamond-cut surface put too much load on the tyres.

The only way Michelin was prepared to give approval for the US Grand Prix race was if a chicane was installed, but agreement could not be obtained from Ferrari, who run on Bridgestone tyres, and have received little sympathy from Michelin when they had a problem with their tyres in the past.

Currently it looks like all the Michelin Teams will go to the grid and then come in after the parade lap. No-one on the grid could talk about it to Martin Brundle, including Jenson Button and Mrs Bernie Ecclestone.

Radio One Giving Away Green Day Tickets

Radio One has been giving away Green Day tickets for the gigs at the Milton Keynes National Bowl happening over the weekend. The rules of the competition were that the DJs were not allowed to mention any words containing either "Green" or "Day". If they did, then an alarm would sound and listeners could call in to try and get hold of the Green Day tickets. We listened in on the Chris Moyles show, and by 7.20pm, both Chris and Comedy Dave had slipped up , both of them saying "today". Chris said he wasn't enjoying himself as he had to think so carefully on each word, and ended up sounding like a dalek. Comedy Dave said it was bad enough trying to remember all the words he was not allowed to say normally, let alone having to remember these new ones.

Malcolm Glazer has over 97.3% of the shares now. Reaching 97.6% will allow him to make a compulsory purchase order for the rest of them. The name of his investment vehicle with which he performed the takeover was Red Football.

Chris Martin Reveals Songwriting Techniques

We've just been watching the "Coldplay in Profile" program on ITV1. In it, they discussed how the band wrote new songs. Most of the time they said it started with Chris Martin bringing in to the studio an idea for a song that he had written down, or would play on his harmonica, but sometimes it was a result of a band jam session. Chris said he knew when to abandon a song idea when drummer Will Champion got distracted by playing his tin whistle.

For the new Coldplay album X +Y, the band has "turned up" guitarist Jonny Buckland. Chris said he thought Jonny ranked as one of the best guitarists in the world, alongside U2's The Edge, and deserved more recognition. Jonny's guitar tech had also hinted to Chris that it would be worth turning Jonny up a bit on the new album.

The band also mentioned how the EMI share price suffered when they didn't make their first deadline for the new album. However, as could be expected, Chris Martin isn't one to pander to the whims of the shareholders!!

Big Brother Vanessa has sprained her ankle after jumping off a bed and landing awkwardly.
